Waterproof Outdoor Storage Boxes

Like we described above, most outdoor storage boxes are made out of wood, plastic resin, or metal. Plastic resin is arguably the most popular because of how durable and resistant it is to weather conditions. That being said, wood can add a more natural aesthetic to your backyard.

The most important things to look for in an outdoor storage box are the materials it’s made out of, as well as its capacity. It should be large enough to store everything that you plan to store in it. Think about this before you buy the box.

Maintaining a storage box is very simple. Resin and metal boxes will require the most minimal upkeep, and should need nothing more than an annual rinsing and scrubbing with water and bleach to stay clean. Wooden boxes, meanwhile, will likely need occasional sealing or staining to keep up their nicer appearance. 

Most outdoor storage boxes are designed to be water-resistant, but not all are 100% waterproof, and there’s a big distinction between the two. A water resistant box won’t be able to handle torrential downpours or ongoing humidity like waterproof boxes can.
