The 4m wide and 3m deep awning came as one package, 2m wide, with the two 4m long components each split into two sections for on-site assembly. There were clear instructions for assembly in the accompanying instruction booklet except that I managed to fit the awning material with the top and bottom seams outside rather than inside which will collect fallen leaves but will probably not affect appearance or longevity much.
Another minor issue was that the plastic fittings (items #9 which locate the awning crossways in the top and bottom channels) could have also served to prevent any slight crumpling of the material (as it is wound onto the top roller) if they had been designed to actually lock the material in place.
I recommend this awning as being well thought out and good value for money.
